As ever, most articles in this issue were commissioned, but a couple turned up out of the blue (and more are welcome—or at least ideas for articles if not the final manuscript). The first, on chronic daily headache by Mark Weatherall (page 212), urges us to take this problem more seriously and not regard it as an enormous burden. But, I have to say, the headache specialists always claim to have more success at treating intractable headaches than I seem to achieve (which is presumably why they are specialists and I am not). In the second, Harold Conn, a retired US hepatologist, describes his rather remarkable journey with his own normal pressure hydrocephalus—from the wrong diagnosis for many years to presenting his research findings at a hydrocephalus conference (page 252).
